Te Kōrero Pikitia

E hiahiatia ana:

  • Ko ētahi pikitia mai i te pukapuka (tirohia ki raro nei).
  • Ko ētahi rernga kōrero e tohutohu ana ki hea takoto ai ngā pikitia i te roto.

Ngā Hua ka Puta:

  • Ka kōrerohia, ka tautohua ngā mea ka tipu rānei, ka noho rānei i te taha o te roto. (Ko te raupō, te wahie, te tuna, te aha, te aha).
  • Ka whakarongo ki ngā tohutohu o te kaikōrero (ahakoa ko wai) kia tika te takoto o ngā whakaahua i te roto.
  • Ka whakamahia te reo tohutohu, pērā i te ‘ki te taha, ki runga, ki muri, ki roto, ki raro, ki waenga, (whakate)mauī, (whakate)matau/katau.

Ngā Tohutohu

  1. Tāruatia ngā pikitia i raro nei, arā te roto, ngā kōhatu, te wīwī, ngā anga kākahi, te tāwhao, te kōhanga raupō me te tuna. Uhia ki te kirihou. **Me nui ake te pikitia o te roto i ērā ake kia taea ērā atu pikitia te piri atu.
  2. Tirohia, kōrerohia ngā pikitia katoa
    1. he aha ngā mea ka kitea i roto i tēnā pikitia, i tēnā pikitia?
    2. Ki te tuku te pikitia ki te roto, ka takoto ki hea?
  3. Whakamāramahia atu ki ngā ākonga, ka pānuihia ētahi rerenga kōrero me ētahi tohutohu.
  4. Ko tā ngā ākonga he āta whakarongo ki ngā rerenga kōrero me ngā tohutohu, ka tahi. Ka rua, he whiriwhiri i te pikitia e whakaahuatia ana, ā, ka tukuna ki te wāhi e tika ana i te pikitia o te roto.
  5. Me whakarongo noa iho ngā ākonga i te pānuitanga tuatahi. I te pānuitanga tuarua, ka whāia ngā tohutohu.

Ngā kōrero mā te kaiako (he tauira noa iho ēnei):

  1. Tukuna te kōhatu ki te taha o te kōhatu i te pikitia o te roto. Place the kōhatu beside the kōhatū on the lake picture.
  2. Whakatakotoria te wīwī ki raro i te karahiwi. Place the wīwī below the hill.
  3. Tukuna te anga kākahi ki te taha matau o te wīwī . Place the anga kākahi on the right of the wīwī.
  4. Ki hea takoto ai te tāwhao? Ki te taha o te rākau i te roto. Place te tāwhao beside the rākau on the lake picture.
  5. Whakatakotoria te kōhanga raupō ki waenganui pū o te roto. Place the kohanga raupō in the middle of the lake.
  6. Whakatakotoria te tuna ki waenga i te roto ki te taha o te kohanga raupō. Place the tuna in the middle of the lake beside the kohanga raupō.

Instructions:

  1. Copy and laminate the pictures, i.e., the lake, the stones, the reeds, the mussel shells, the logs, bulrush, and the eel. The picture of the lake is the setting so should be bigger than the other pictures.
  2. Look at and discuss the picture cards – what do they see in each picture? If they were to put the picture in the lake setting, where would it go?
  3. Explain to the students you will read out some sentences and instructions for them to follow.
  4. Firstly, students are to listen carefully to the sentences and instructions. Secondly, choose the correct picture that is being described and place in the correct place on the lake setting.
  5. Students just listen for the first reading. At the second reading they follow the instructions.

Te Tūhonohono Kupu Huarite

Ngā Tohutohu

  1. Tāruatia te mahere kupu huarite. Tapahia hei kāri kupu.
  2. Me mahi takirua ngā tamariki.
  3. Tukuna atu ngā huinga kāri ki ia takirua.
  4. Ko tā ngā tamariki he tūhonohono i ngā kāri e rite ana te tangi o te oro whakamutunga. Hei tauira ‘kō – atapō’.
  5. Ka mutu ana te mahi, me whakaaro ngā tamariki ki ētahi kupu huarite e 6 anō kātahi ka tuhia ki ngā kāri e wātea ana.

Instructions

  1. Copy the rhyming words template. Cut into word cards (enough for a set per pair).
  2. Students are to work in pairs.
  3. Give a set of cards to each pair.
  4. Students work together to join the cards according to the last sound of the word, e.g., kō – atapō.
  5. When they finish, students think of 6 more rhyming words and write them on the blank cards.
